An outline of the things that we stand for and what we have to offer you.

You were most likely referred to us by one of our present clients. Welcome, to our business family, and we mean it. We know from experience that not everyone wants what we have to offer. This is why we welcome referrals from our existing clients.

We will spend some extra time with you, in the beginning to get to know you, and what you truly desire, in regards to your overall dental health. Some people like the Drill, Fill, and Bill or clinic style of Dentistry; where there is little friendliness or discussion.

We would like to become friends with you so that we both can enjoy our times together more. I know it sounds weird that we think people may enjoy coming to see us for dental surgery, but many people do.

We all spend a lot of our lives at our Dental Office. We find it far more pleasurable to spend the time with people that we have become friendly with and trust. We aim for your life and our lives to be happier because of your relationship with us.

What we want for you

Our aim is for you to enjoy coming to see us. We know the only way we can be truly happy at work is if the people we meet are happy also. We all want to live long and happily, so we have decided to do things differently to concentrate on helping you to be comfortable and happy!

We want you to be excited about how your teeth look, and how healthy your mouth feels. If you are happy because of your experience with us, you will invite your friends to see us. We will continue to grow and prosper, and we can feel proud that we have helped you achieve what you want.

Making the most of your time

Your time is very important to you, and that makes it important to us. We usually run on time, and we will apologize if we keep you waiting. You will find that we can do things in fewer visits than is usual in the dental setting. We like to work efficiently and not have you coming back for lots of visits.

How we make your treatment pleasant

You will have lip balm for your lips to protect them, and colored glasses to protect your eyes. You can have Laughing Gas (Nitrous Oxide), if you like, to make your treatment more pleasant. If you are one of the many people who are fearful of dental treatment or wish to have as much treatment completed as possible, at one time, we offer Sedation dentistry. By taking a little pill, you can slip into a sleep like state to have your dentistry done. We have developed many new techniques that help us to help you to enjoy treatment without pain and discomfort.

If you need to have an anaesthetic injection, we will use a powerful anaesthetic gel to numb your gum before we give it. We numb very gently, with a computer assisted anaesthetic system, which makes it more comfortable.

We can if you want, however, do many treatments without injection, yet without pain. So long as we only remove decayed or damaged tooth, it is not painful at all.

With old-fashioned fillings, it was necessary to drill into live parts of your tooth to lock the filling in place. We use a technique called Bonding, which joins onto your tooth and makes it unnecessary to drill into the live parts of the tooth. We'll always stop at any sign of discomfort, and if you are worried about anything you can have us stop immediately.

If we learn to work together, Dentistry can be a pleasant experience. It is not at all to our or your benefit that you dislike coming to see us and so we will try very hard to make you comfortable. If we can all learn to enjoy having our Dentistry it will help us all be stronger and gaining more happiness from the rest of our lives.

Long-term dentistry

If you are like most of us, you would like to keep your teeth as long as possible – preferably until you die. In all likelihood you are going to live into your nineties, so we feel that it is important to perform long-term dentistry in your mouth rather than quick, cheap short-term fixes that cause you trouble, and cost you more money in the long run, and may ultimately lead to tooth loss for you.

We have found that in the past, one of the major reasons that teeth are lost is that they break because they have been weakened by decay and drilling. Each time a filling is replaced, it becomes bigger as more of your tooth is cut away. After the filling has been replaced two or three times, the tooth often dies, and this causes further problems.

Many surveys show that the average life of a silver filling is under 9 years, and a tooth colored filling is about the same, so in your lifetime you can expect a filling to be replaced many times, and to gradually get bigger.

So, for all but small cavities, it is often better to have a long term solution such as a crown, to stop the continual treatment and damage to your tooth. For the smaller cavities, we use Air Abrasion and Bonding which can usually be completed with no anaesthesia (numbing medicine).

Crowns (Caps) are often the answer

We use a newer kind of crown which fits over the tooth and only requires that the outer worn layer of enamel and decay be removed. After they are prepared for crowns, the teeth do not end up looking like little “pegs”, as they used to with the thicker, old fashioned kind of crowns.On front teeth we use tooth colored ceramic to crown your teeth. Ceramic looks wonderful, natural, and translucent and it works very well on front teeth.

For back teeth, where the forces are much greater, we use zirconium under the ceramic to make them stronger and still look wonderful, natural, and tooth colored with no metal showing on the teeth.

Preventive Dentistry

It is much better to prevent problems than to try to cure them; I think you will agree. We will be happy to show you how to prevent decay and gum disease by helping you learn how to care for your teeth as well as you can. If you wish, we can help you identify the things that you eat, which are especially damaging. If you wish, we can fabricate custom mouth guards containing fluoride to greatly reduce future tooth decay.

Our First Meeting

We would like you to be comfortable when you come to see us. We can sit with you in a private area while we talk about what you want from us. Many people have told us, and you probably feel the same, that one of the most important things we need to do is listen when you talk. We find we can do that more easily if we are in private.

Food and Drinks

You'll find we make quite a thing out zf the drinks we offer you. We are happy to serve you bottled water, apple juice, orange juice, sparkling cider and assorted vintage soda pop. If you would like a snack we are very happy to make you something. But, why do we go to all this trouble with food and drink? Well, there are a number of reasons really:

We like to have nice food and drink for ourselves, and we enjoy sharing it with you.

It's sometimes hard for you to judge how well we do our Dentistry. If we do the food and drinks really well and with a lot of care, you can infer that we are going to take a lot of care of your mouth.

  • It helps us to communicate together if we share food or drink.
  • Dental treatment can be quite stressful for some people. Food and drink help to keep up your blood sugar and stop you feeling faint.
  • The smell of the fresh baked Dental Buns help to stop the "dental smell" that everyone hates.
  • It costs so little. Compared with the cost of the Dental Materials and equipment we use, food and drink are a very inexpensive way to show you we care.

How do our fees compare

For many things our fees are higher than those at the average “fill and drill” dentist. We do not, however, just give you average service! For the long term solutions such as crowns, implants and bridges, we are similar in cost to most good quality dentists in the downtown area of our larger cities.

Guarantee

Provided you see us for regular maintenance, we guarantee all Ceramic for five (5) years, and fillings for two (2) years. What this means to you is if anything breaks or comes off, we will replace it at no charge to you. This, however, is predicated on the premise that you will continue to have maintence visits as recommended in our office and you follow the home care instructions given to you by us.

Payments

You can pay by Credit Card, Check, Third-Party Patient Financing or Cash. You will normally pay in advance or at the time of treatment, and we can tell you the amount in advance.

Insurance

The amount they refund varies from 0% to 100% depending on what you have done, how long you have been on the plan and other more obscure circumstances. In spite of our efforts, we find it impossible to be sure how much of your contribution will be returned to you.… it's very frustrating! So if we make any prediction at all concerning refunds (and we rarely do) it will at best be an intelligent guess. We expect you to claim from your insurance after you have settled your account with us, rather than before. We will help you all we can to make your insurance claim.

The Hours we work

There is someone in the office Monday thru Thursday, from 8 am until 5 p.m. We take our lunches from 1-2pm. Sometimes we start earlier or finish later than this.

Photography

One of Dr. Netzley’s hobbies is taking nature pictures. Several adorn the walls of the office. If you would like a personalized, matted copy, just ask.

Emergencies

When we have gotten to know each other, you can have a card with everyone's after hour’s number. Keep it safe and ring us if you need urgent help.

A Bargain We Would Like to Make with You

Here is what we feel we owe to each other. It is what we would like our relationship with you to be built upon. If you have any concerns at all with this, we are happy to discuss with you what you feel would be fair.

  • We must tell you in advance, the cost of any major treatment.
  • We must do our very best treatment for you.
  • We must listen to you when you talk.
  • We must apologize and make amends if we don't perform as we promise, and you can be the judge of our performance.
  • We will do our absolute level best to stay on time because we know everyone hates to be kept waiting.
  • You must complain if there is something that upsets you. That way we have a chance to put it right, apologize and give you appropriate compensation.
  • You should pay your bills on time.

If we ask, (We don't ask everyone) we would like you to try to refer at least one person whom you feel would like the things we offer. In this way we can continue to have a flow of new people, and be here for you when you need us next time.
